Duck & Dim Sum Chinese Restaurant

We’ve only ever ordered takeaway but have at all times enjoyed our meals. Food taste is subjective and a matter of preference but if you have the impression and prior experience of strong tasting Chinese food, you may find the dishes to be more subtle in flavours and may be at risk of finding them bland as other reviewers have pointed out. For us, these dishes remind us strongly of our home in Malaysia and something that a close friend or our mother would make for her family, in which a huge amount of thought and care is applied in terms of the amount of oil and seasoning used, so that not one flavour overpowers the other, and you get to enjoy and appreciate the meat and vegetables as they are (instead of just tasting salt, oil or spice). Having just moved to Windsor, to be able to find a Chinese restaurant that does home cooked style dishes has been an absolute joy. Portions are generous and delivery has always been ahead of time. The ingredients are fresh and of good quality. We say this because we have had experience with some restaurants using huge amounts of seasoning to mask the not-the-best state of the ingredients used in their cooking. We will continue to get our Chinese takeaway fix from Duck & Dim Sum and hope to one day be able to dine-in. We would like to also thank the chef and team at Duck & Dim Sum for giving us a taste of home here in Windsor.

Went last Saturday and had the satay beef fried rice and seafood fried udon — both were cooked to perfection with great wok hei and full of flavour. The owner was really nice too. Definitely coming back!

My favourite Chinese restaurant in Windsor by far. Both the roast duck and the dim sum are delicious. Great service (Louise is fantastic!) and they are also fast. I’ve been three times, with English hubby, with a Singaporean friend and with my Spanish father, and they all loved it too.

We’ve been here several times and it’s become our go-to Chinese restaurant in Windsor! Staff are friendly and food is delicious - not too greasy and generous portion sizes. Highly recommend the Prawn Dim Sum and Beef in Black bean sauce!

We were staying in Old Windsor and picked up a take away for 6 adults from Duck & Dim Sum. Dylan made some great recommendations and was friendly and polite, an asset to the restaurant. The food was good quality with plenty of flavour and was quickly cooked while we waited. I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. Book a table if you are eating in as the restaurant is quite small. If we are in the area again we will certainly plan to go back. Thank you Dylan for your recommendations, different to our usual Chinese at home, but all dishes were great.

Fantastic setup. We arrived around 3pm, starving after a long road trip to Windsor. Pretty sure the owner himself took our order—he gently pointed out we were ordering too much and, guessing we were visitors, reminded us we wouldn’t be able to carry the leftovers. He suggested some smart adjustments and even swapped in a dish to suit our preference, though it wasn’t on the menu. The food came out fast—hot, fresh, and delicious. We noticed him quietly eating a late lunch himself and he confirmed he hadn’t had a chance to eat all day because of how busy they were. That personal touch and warmth really stood out. After weeks without good Chinese food, this feast hit the spot. We’ll remember the hospitality just as much as the meal.
